{"id":726,"date":"2011-05-11T21:24:57","date_gmt":"2011-05-12T02:24:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=726"},"modified":"2011-05-11T21:24:57","modified_gmt":"2011-05-12T02:24:57","slug":"tower-base-hole","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=726","title":{"rendered":"Tower base hole"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: rest day]<\/p>\n<p>I finished up the tower base hole today, concrete is to be delivered tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n<p>I am going with the pier-pin base method which makes the concrete work a bit simpler.\u00a0 All I end up with is a big block of concrete with a pin sticking out of it.\u00a0 When the tower goes up the base fits over the pin.\u00a0\u00a0 A lot of people bury part of a tower section, and I did that on my first tower.\u00a0 But for this one I wanted to try the pin method.<\/p>\n<p>Hole is ready, rebar cage is on concrete blocks in the hole.<\/p>\n<p>In the morning I will make sure the form is level one last time, and use the shop vac to get any water out of my guy anchor holes.\u00a0 For guy anchors I am using sections of 4&#8243; steel pipe with 48&#8243; buried and about 8&#8243; above the ground.\u00a0 I will pack the center of each pipe with concrete up to within a few inches of the top where I will install an eye bolt.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-727\" href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?attachment_id=727\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-727\" title=\"IMG00340-20110511-0916\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG00340-20110511-0916-700x525.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG00340-20110511-0916-700x525.jpg 700w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG00340-20110511-0916-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG00340-20110511-0916.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: rest day] I finished up the tower base hole today, concrete is to be delivered tomorrow morning.
