I&#8217;ve got the scanner on, listening to a net on 145.430 Mhz.  I believe the repeater is in Vernon, AL, but the net is being run out of Tuscaloosa.  I think they have a linked repeater system but I&#8217;m not sure how that works.<\/p>\n<p>I think the net controller is calling it the &#8220;Alabama Emergency Net&#8221;.  Having found a list of nets in Alabama, I think it may be the &#8220;West Alabama Emergency Net&#8221; which starts on Sunday evening at 8:30 pm.  That would be about right.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been listening to the scanner often since I got it programmed up a week ago.  I have heard quite a bit of local public service (police\/fire\/utilities\/etc) traffic and some air traffic stuff.  And there is some ham activity too.
