I had an informal deadline to find a new job before turning 57.\u00a0 That point has passed.<\/p>\n
Fifty seven sounds to me like a lot closer to 60 than to 55.\u00a0 I know that is not mathematically true.\u00a0 And to someone who is 35 it probably blurs all together with all the other numbers above 40.<\/p>\n
I think I have made some progress on the job-hunt front.\u00a0 But no offers and no solid leads.\u00a0 I’ve sent some resumes, but that seems almost quaint these days.\u00a0 There are job postings, the button says “apply” and you hit the button and it sends them a copy of your standard resume.\u00a0 And you will most likely never hear from them.<\/p>\n
A lot of places are using keyword systems and they munch up the resume and if it smells like the keywords they are looking for, maybe they will go further.\u00a0 And I haven’t broken the keyword code… I’m not even sure what keywords I’m wanting to pursue let alone the ones they are looking for.<\/p>\n
I am still working through my Go language book.\u00a0 Not sure I will ever be a Go-lang programmer, but I am learning from it and enjoying it.\u00a0 And I have a PostgreSQL database book that is yet unfinished.<\/p>\n
I’m busy at work and there is really no sign of a wrap-up soon, or at least not sooner than 18 months, which is about where we were 6 months ago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
