{"id":6423,"date":"2018-05-30T19:44:02","date_gmt":"2018-05-31T00:44:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=6423"},"modified":"2018-05-30T19:44:02","modified_gmt":"2018-05-31T00:44:02","slug":"goodbye-old-truck-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=6423","title":{"rendered":"Goodbye old truck #2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: 3.1 miles of hills in Columbus]<\/p>\n<p>I am happy to report that I was able to transport and dispose of old truck #2.<\/p>\n<p>I borrowed my neighbor&#8217;s car-hauling trailer and on Monday he helped me load the truck on there.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday morning I towed it in to Columbus Scrap and they paid me just shy of $300 for the remains.\u00a0 They had a fork-lift-loader vehicle that just poked through the side window and lifted it off the trailer by the roof.\u00a0 Poof!\u00a0 It was gone.<\/p>\n<p>So the old truck was pretty much a wash in the money department.\u00a0 I received $300 for the engine and transmission and then $296.10 for the remains.\u00a0 I kept a few parts, not many, for use in my old truck #1 which may help prolong it&#8217;s life a bit.<\/p>\n<p>I neglected to take a picture of the fork-lift-loader doing it&#8217;s thing, but I did get this picture of a pile of engine blocks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?attachment_id=6425\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6425\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-6425\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_20180529_075630125_HDR-700x525.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_20180529_075630125_HDR-700x525.jpg 700w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_20180529_075630125_HDR-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/IMG_20180529_075630125_HDR.jpg 916w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: 3.1 miles of hills in Columbus] I am happy to report that I was able to transport and dispose of old truck #2.
