Last week I saw reference to an online quiz\/interview thing called Triplebyte so I decided to give it a shot.<\/p>\n
I did the quiz part and the thing reported that I did well.\u00a0 I’m skeptical.\u00a0 But, they wanted me to sign up for an interview time.\u00a0 So I have an interview coming up next Saturday at 9 am.<\/p>\n
They give some description of the interview.\u00a0 Part of it is debugging a program.\u00a0 And they give a list of programming languages from which you can choose.<\/p>\n
I’ve been using something called Perl for most of my projects in the last 20 years. Perl wasn’t on the list.\u00a0 I used to know ‘C’ pretty well.\u00a0 C wasn’t on the list either.\u00a0 I’ve done some C++ and some Java.\u00a0 C++ and Java were on there. But doing anything with them these days means I’d have to learn an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) which I don’t really want to take the time to do right now.\u00a0 Another Perl-like language was on the list called Python.<\/p>\n
I’ve taken a half hearted run at Python a couple of times.\u00a0 It seemed like a waste of time since I didn’t want to expand the already long list of technologies I’m supposed to know for my job.\u00a0 But now I’ve been reading about Python for this interview.\u00a0 If I don’t get anything else out of it, maybe I can learn Python.<\/p>\n
