{"id":5912,"date":"2017-07-05T13:14:04","date_gmt":"2017-07-05T18:14:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=5912"},"modified":"2017-07-05T13:14:04","modified_gmt":"2017-07-05T18:14:04","slug":"turtle-and-hedge-apples","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=5912","title":{"rendered":"Turtle and hedge apples"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: 3.5 miles]<\/p>\n<p>I was out early this morning for my run.\u00a0 I noticed that the green hedge apples are starting to fall from the trees.\u00a0 They are about the size of a softball and weigh like a similarly sized melon.\u00a0 It would hurt to have one fall on you from the tree!. There aren&#8217;t a lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maclura_pomifera\">these trees<\/a>, but a few it seems in every fence row.\u00a0 The story is that putting these near the front or back door will keep spiders out of the house.
