Today we went to the 4-County Electric Cooperative annual meeting.\u00a0 They have a health fair and a meal and then they have the meeting part.\u00a0 One of the big incentives to attend is, at the end of the meeting they have a drawing for a free “retired” pickup truck from their fleet vehicles.<\/p>\n
Anyway, like last year we arrived after most of the health fair stuff was over.\u00a0 We got in line for the meal and, same as last year, it was a fried catfish dinner.\u00a0 They also had water, soft drinks, baked beans, coleslaw, and cookies for desert.\u00a0 It was really tasty.<\/p>\n
Then we went to the meeting part and listened to their reports and then they had the drawing for the pickup which some older lady was very happy to win.\u00a0 “I have that number!”, she shouted from the back.\u00a0 Good for her!<\/p>\n
But what I was going to talk about was the catfish.\u00a0 Fish farming is big in this area<\/a>.\u00a0 The soil is usually a heavy clay.\u00a0 Get yourself a dozer and push the ground around a little and you’ve got a lake.\u00a0 There are catfish growing companies from which you can buy the equipment and the stock.
