{"id":5666,"date":"2017-01-07T21:10:41","date_gmt":"2017-01-08T03:10:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=5666"},"modified":"2017-01-07T21:16:55","modified_gmt":"2017-01-08T03:16:55","slug":"cold-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=5666","title":{"rendered":"Cold day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Monday: 5 miles; Wednesday 3.5; today: 3.5]<\/p>\n<p>We had a cold front come through yesterday.\u00a0 The temperature dropped all day Friday and reached into the teens on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Just shortly after it hit bottom I went out for my Saturday morning run.\u00a0 It was 18 degrees.\u00a0 I had a great run and enjoyed the buildup of frost on my eyelashes and mustache.\u00a0 Just like the good old days running in Iowa and Colorado.<\/p>\n<p>Eighteen is pretty low for Mississippi but it is not unusual to reach that low a couple of times each winter.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve only had my weather station going since the summer of 2013;\u00a0 I have a pretty complete record for 2014-2016.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve had teens or lower every year.<\/p>\n<p>I wore my fuzzy hat, gloves, three shirts\u00a0 (1 long sleeve, one short sleeve, and one tank, all &#8220;tech&#8221; material), and my regular compression shorts and baggy shorts.\u00a0 The fuzzy hat was getting pretty sweaty by the time I finished.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?attachment_id=5667\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5667\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5667\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_20170107_074455211-700x933.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"933\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_20170107_074455211-700x933.jpg 700w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_20170107_074455211-768x1024.jpg 768w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMG_20170107_074455211.jpg 1944w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Monday: 5 miles; Wednesday 3.5; today: 3.5] We had a cold front come through yesterday.\u00a0 The temperature dropped all day Friday and reached into the teens on Saturday morning.
