{"id":5624,"date":"2016-12-01T18:51:03","date_gmt":"2016-12-02T00:51:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=5624"},"modified":"2016-12-01T18:52:43","modified_gmt":"2016-12-02T00:52:43","slug":"fall-storms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=5624","title":{"rendered":"Fall storms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Monday: 3.5 miles; today: 3.5 miles]<\/p>\n<p>After almost no rain since the first half of September, this week we caught up with ourselves a bit.<\/p>\n<p>We had two days of evening storms complete with tornado warnings and some quality time spent sitting in our shelter room:\u00a0 the bedroom closet.<\/p>\n<p>I was able to listen to our relay of the tornado warning announcements and do a bit of adjusting to our EAS device to try to make the warning sound better.\u00a0 I also started a bit of a fuss about how bad the warnings were sounding as then came down to me through the EAS distribution system.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There may be some further work in that area.\u00a0 I think the advice of the old-timers is to get your own weather radio and get the warnings straight from the nearest NWS radio station.\u00a0 So I have some work to do in that regard.<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, we didn&#8217;t suffer any problem from the weather.\u00a0 There was some damage about 2 miles away, southeast of us, some trees and fence blown over.<\/p>\n<p>Today I ran Watson Road and took this picture.\u00a0 One limb blown down but no serious damage that I could see.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?attachment_id=5625\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5625\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-5625\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_20161201_134557_872-675x1200.jpg\" alt=\"img_20161201_134557_872\" width=\"675\" height=\"1200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_20161201_134557_872-675x1200.jpg 675w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_20161201_134557_872-768x1365.jpg 768w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_20161201_134557_872-576x1024.jpg 576w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_20161201_134557_872.jpg 1836w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Monday: 3.5 miles; today: 3.5 miles] After almost no rain since the first half of September, this week we caught up with ourselves a bit.
