After work this evening I wanted to go to the library and get another book to read.\u00a0 But my sweetie wanted to watch TV.\u00a0 So we watched TV.\u00a0 But she let me pick out the show.\u00a0 And I picked a movie:\u00a0 Rock the Kasbah<\/a> starring Bill Murray<\/a>.<\/p>\n The movie is about a talent producer who ends up stranded in Kabul, Afghanistan.\u00a0 He chances upon a girl who likes to sing old Cat Stevens songs and he overcomes many obstacles to get her into the Afghan version of\u00a0 American Idol where she does her thing and everybody lives happily ever after.<\/p>\n It is kind of a mix of Hollywood and comedy set in the country of The Hurt Locker.\u00a0 It’s somewhat weird.<\/p>\n But, overall it was OK.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Probably about on par with reading another Jesse Stone detective novel which is what I was aiming for.<\/p>\n One other thing:\u00a0 these movies about Afghanistan.\u00a0 Does the place really look that bad?\u00a0 all dried up mountains and hills?\u00a0\u00a0 It looks like the far side of the moon.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" [Today: 3.5 miles] After work this evening I wanted to go to the library and get another book to read.\u00a0 But my sweetie wanted to watch TV.\u00a0 So we watched TV.\u00a0 But she let me pick out the show.\u00a0 And I picked a movie:\u00a0 Rock the Kasbah starring Bill Murray.
