[Saturday’s run: 3.5 miles]<\/p>\n

Yesterday was a big day.<\/p>\n

We had the Mississippi State Graduation at 10:00, but the processional started at 9:30 and we were told that parking could be tight.\u00a0 So we left the house about 8:20.\u00a0 Parking wasn’t bad at that time.\u00a0 Grandparents were there earlier and saved us a row of seats.\u00a0\u00a0 The ceremonial stuff wasn’t bad and the speakers were fairly good.\u00a0 It took quite a while to have every graduate cross the stage and shake hands with the college president, provost and their dean.\u00a0 We were able to spot #1 son and watch him go through.<\/p>\n

That was a nice experience.<\/p>\n

Getting out of the place was a bit more confused, but we made it OK.\u00a0 And we relocated most of the party over to Longhorn Steakhouse in Columbus for lunch.<\/p>\n

After that we pretty much just sat and visited for a couple of hours at our house.\u00a0 It was a nice relaxing afternoon.\u00a0 I was tired and enjoyed the chance to sit and talk.<\/p>\n

Today our travelers from Des Moines head back and later the Colorado contingent will start\u00a0 back.<\/p>\n

We don’t get a lot of opportunity to have both of our children and both sets of grandparents in the same area at one time.\u00a0 It was a special treat for us.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, we missed the reception for nephew John, but we did make it to his actual graduation ceremony on Friday and slipped him a card with some greenbacks for his future aspirations.<\/p>\n

Since I’m posting this on Mother’s Day, I’ll include a picture of my mother and our dog Paxton.<\/p>\n
