I may have written about this before.\u00a0 After a thousand or so of these blog entries I think I am allowed to repeat myself a little bit.<\/p>\n
My wife showed me a picture on Facebook, it was kind of a joke thing, like most of Facebook is.\u00a0 The caption was something about reusing doll heads to make nightlights and it showed an old fashioned doll head with light streaming out of the eyes.\u00a0 It looked like a nightmare generator to me.<\/p>\n
That reminded me of a lamp my sister had.\u00a0 I don’t remember it giving me nightmares, but I wonder now why someone thought it would make a good soothing subject.<\/p>\n
It was a “motion lamp”, the heat of the bulb made air rise and turned an inner liner. The outer part had a design like a forest with a stream and trees.\u00a0 The effect was to make it look like the forest was on fire.\u00a0 OK, so who had the bright idea of making a nice bedtime lamp that looked like a forest fire?<\/p>\n
I did an online search and found a picture of her lamp, or something like it<\/a>.\u00a0 If that doesn’t work, just do a google search for Forest Fire Lamp and you’ll get a bunch.<\/p>\n Here’s a video (with someone talking in French)<\/p>\n
