{"id":5334,"date":"2016-04-07T07:12:54","date_gmt":"2016-04-07T12:12:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=5334"},"modified":"2016-04-07T20:27:00","modified_gmt":"2016-04-08T01:27:00","slug":"mississippi-joins-the-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=5334","title":{"rendered":"Mississippi Joins the 20%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Tuesday: 3.5 miles, today: 3.5 miles]<\/p>\n<p>So, all sorts of angst and wailing after the Governor of Mississippi signed a bill giving objectors a way for avoiding participation in gay marriage.<\/p>\n<p>Our local newspaper (vehemently against the bill) had a big headline on the front, their own editorial and two guest editorials, all against.<\/p>\n<p>That makes 10 or 11 states that have passed such laws.<\/p>\n<p>The only real argument from the anti-freedom types is that we shouldn&#8217;t &#8220;discriminate&#8221;, while on the other side of their mouth calling the pro-freedom types haters and bigots and whatever other nasty names are high on the list this month.<\/p>\n<p>And the usually anti-big-business end of the political spectrum is happy to point out that big corporations are on the gay-marriage side or the who-cares-which-bathroom side ( or any other side that brings money in the front door).\u00a0 Giving legal standing to every minimum-wage lackey not wanting to serve canadian bacon would put a kink in the hiring practices at the local McDonalds.<\/p>\n<p>So, we shall see what happens.\u00a0 The money and lawyers are all on the &#8220;you will be assimilated&#8221; side of things.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Tuesday: 3.5 miles, today: 3.5 miles] So, all sorts of angst and wailing after the Governor of Mississippi signed a bill giving objectors a way for avoiding participation in gay marriage.
