[Today’s run: 3.5 miles]<\/p>\n
Since last fall we have been running the LPFM radio station on the weekends, so that I can keep an eye on it and also to help us figure out audio levels, and such things.<\/p>\n
It’s been going fairly well.\u00a0 I had to do some work on the transmitter when a chip capacitor failed in the final amplifier.\u00a0 But I think I got that working ok.<\/p>\n
We’ve left it on now since last friday, the 5th.\u00a0 Today is the 9th.\u00a0 So it has been an extended test.<\/p>\n
The other issue is the noise in this room from the transmitter cooling fan.\u00a0 I’ve been contemplating a way to get my daily work done in a quieter environment.\u00a0 It may be that we will yet move the transmitter to a different room.\u00a0 But for now I have moved my work area to the “spare” bedroom.<\/p>\n
This is a three bedroom house and I’m slowly taking it over with my junk.\u00a0 I think maybe I need to acquire an “out building” to do some of this stuff.\u00a0 I’m looking into that.\u00a0 But for now I work in the spare bedroom while the transmitter is on.<\/p>\n
