{"id":4939,"date":"2015-08-21T19:40:14","date_gmt":"2015-08-22T00:40:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=4939"},"modified":"2015-08-21T19:40:14","modified_gmt":"2015-08-22T00:40:14","slug":"bats-in-the-belfry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=4939","title":{"rendered":"Bats in the belfry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: zero]<\/p>\n<p>Well, not really bats and not the belfry, it&#8217;s wasps in the weather station.<\/p>\n<p>I noticed this afternoon that the display of my weather station was showing some gaps.\u00a0 So I logged in, had no problem logging in, and cleaned up some excessive log files and restarted the thing.<\/p>\n<p>It gave indication that the software could not talk to the weather station unit itself.\u00a0 That&#8217;s no good.<\/p>\n<p>So I went out awhile ago and took the cover off and poked around.\u00a0 Things looked OK in the control box where my computer and battery live.\u00a0 Tried a few other things.<\/p>\n<p>I eventually poked my screwdriver up under the shade-shield of the weather station and a few big wasps came out.\u00a0 The next reboot, now it is starting to get a bit of data from the weather\u00a0 unit again.\u00a0 Still not working quite right.<\/p>\n<p>I think those wasps were in there making a nest and maybe messed up the circuit board or chewed nearly through a wire or something.\u00a0 (Can wasps do that?)<\/p>\n<p>I think I&#8217;m going to probably have to take it down from the post and take it apart and clean it up.<\/p>\n<p>Not tonight though.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: zero] Well, not really bats and not the belfry, it&#8217;s wasps in the weather station.
