[Saturday: 6+ with Boardtown Runners; today: 3.0 planned]<\/p>\n
This week I am in Birmingham, AL for a class at the Alabama Broadcasters Association, introductory broadcast engineering.\u00a0 Things in the class are going well.<\/p>\n
But I did have one minor glitch, my cellphone has lost it’s mind.\u00a0 Since I told the folks at work I would be available by phone, I’m in a bit of a pickle.<\/p>\n
I got up early and went over to Walmart and looked through their cheap prepaid phone plans.\u00a0 I eventually just left.\u00a0 Too much confusion for me.\u00a0 I think I understood that a flip-phone could be had for about $10 and then another $20 for a 30-day “plan”.\u00a0 But some of the packages talked about another startup fee and others didn’t.<\/p>\n
I decided to wait until I can connect with the phone guys at work and see what they recommend.\u00a0 If they would overnight me a new phone then I’d just have one day off the grid.\u00a0 Or maybe I could walk into the Verizon store and they would get me a new phone there.<\/p>\n
Besides the phone stuff, things are doing OK.<\/p>\n
I have this basic class this week, then I have an “advanced” class in early March which is 3 days long.\u00a0 After all of that, I’m hoping I can get a certification as a broadcast engineer.<\/p>\n
