I’ve never been a big New Year’s Eve guy.\u00a0 It always seemed to me that I just have to wake up tomorrow and do it all again like normal.\u00a0 So, except for the day off, it isn’t very exciting.<\/p>\n
Sorry I haven’t been posting much.<\/p>\n
One of my little projects, I finished up a kit<\/a> which is the WB6DHW RF front-end filter<\/a> board.\u00a0 There were 42 toroids to wind and a bunch of little chip capacitors to solder in.\u00a0 It took me a few days but I got that done.\u00a0 I have not used it yet.<\/p>\n The WMFH-LP radio station project is done for the year.\u00a0 We had a good year but now we are facing crunch time.\u00a0 We need to get some serious money by July.\u00a0 Go big or go home.\u00a0 I am still applying to foundations and other grant-making organizations.\u00a0 I was just doing some of that the other day.\u00a0 And I’ve been reading a book about literacy education and some of the facets of that.\u00a0 Very interesting.<\/p>\n Having a bit of trouble with the autonomous, solar powered weather stations, both here and in Starkville.\u00a0 The weather has been dark and rainy for about three weeks.\u00a0 The short and dark days are not enough to get the battery charged up to keep the thing running.\u00a0 So we are flirting with low voltage condition and that isn’t good for battery life either.\u00a0 We either need smarter power management, bigger batteries, bigger solar panels, or something else.<\/p>\n We are doing some car shuffling here.\u00a0 My son’s Ford Ranger is up for sale and he bought a 2001 compact car to replace it.\u00a0 I am thinking we won’t be long in selling the Ranger.\u00a0 We have had a few people ask about it during the time that we have owned it.<\/p>\n Nephew Nathan had his birthday party yesterday and that was fun.\u00a0 He is a lively and interesting guy.\u00a0 Grandma P. is up next.\u00a0 My parents had their 58th wedding anniversary earlier this week.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" [Saturday: 7 miles; Tuesday: 3.4 miles; nothing today] I’ve never been a big New Year’s Eve guy.\u00a0 It always seemed to me that I just have to wake up tomorrow and do it all again like normal.\u00a0 So, except for the day off, it isn’t very exciting.
