{"id":4192,"date":"2014-03-03T08:30:16","date_gmt":"2014-03-03T14:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=4192"},"modified":"2014-03-03T08:30:16","modified_gmt":"2014-03-03T14:30:16","slug":"the-fifth-commandment-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=4192","title":{"rendered":"The Fifth Commandment &#8211; part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: nothing yet]<\/p>\n<p>In my last post I lamented the detaching of marriage from child-rearing and the repudiation of the Fifth Commandment.<\/p>\n<p>In this one I want to project out a bit further.\u00a0 When we ended yesterday, marriage had become solely a contractual construction.<\/p>\n<p>After a generation or so, I\u00a0 predict that the ill effects of raising children in single-sex households will be recognized.\u00a0 Child advocacy organizations in league with surrogate mothers will move to have motherless households be declared a form of child abuse and the UN will pass a resolution saying that every child deserves a mother and a father.<\/p>\n<p>So there will be a two tiered system of marriage, one based on the contract between adults and another based on the child-friendliness of the household.\u00a0 The word &#8220;marriage&#8221; will be attached to the ever-changing inter-adult relationships and some new word will arise to describe households with approved configurations for children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: nothing yet] In my last post I lamented the detaching of marriage from child-rearing and the repudiation of the Fifth Commandment.
