{"id":4173,"date":"2014-02-18T21:18:28","date_gmt":"2014-02-19T03:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=4173"},"modified":"2014-02-18T21:18:28","modified_gmt":"2014-02-19T03:18:28","slug":"lots-of-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=4173","title":{"rendered":"Lots of people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[today&#8217;s run: nothing&#8230; I did run about a mile on Sunday]<\/p>\n<p>Today I went to meetings and such in Fort Collins.\u00a0 There sure are a lot of people around here.<\/p>\n<p>We moved to Mississippi in October of 2009, a little more than four years ago. I think I&#8217;ve started to lose my appreciation for city life.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Collins is a very nice city.\u00a0 There are main streets north and south on a one mile grid.\u00a0 In between there are neighborhoods, usually with winding roads.\u00a0 So the main streets have a lot of traffic and the neighborhoods are fairly quiet.\u00a0 There has been some development since we moved.\u00a0 They are working on a new bus-only corridor.<\/p>\n<p>Off of the streets there is an extensive network of bicycle trails.\u00a0 When we lived here I was able to ride a bicycle from our house to my office without going on or crossing any major streets.\u00a0 The downside though was that I had my new bicycle stolen while we lived here.<\/p>\n<p>Now we live in a more relaxed place. The pace of life in general is slower. And we can afford a little bit of land in the country.\u00a0 That couldn&#8217;t have happened in Ft. Collins; much too expensive.<\/p>\n<p>I miss living in the mountains.\u00a0 But I don&#8217;t miss the traffic and bustle and expense.<\/p>\n<p>I am glad that I have the opportunity to visit often.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[today&#8217;s run: nothing&#8230; I did run about a mile on Sunday] Today I went to meetings and such in Fort Collins.\u00a0 There sure are a lot of people around here.
