[Today’s run: zero; yesterday 2 miles]<\/p>\n
One of my neighbors is a long time hunter and outdoorsman.\u00a0 We were talking the other day and he said, “I’ll take you out for a hunt.”<\/p>\n
After working to put a schedule together, yesterday was finally the day.\u00a0 He had the firearms and ammunition that he trusted, so all I had to do was wear some of my orange stuff from my old try-to-hunt-an-elk days.\u00a0 I wrapped up warm.<\/p>\n
Yesterday he put me at one spot in a deer blind box while he went to another spot that I couldn’t see.\u00a0 It was very kind of him to give me the good spot. I kept my eagle-eye open, and used my binoculars but I never did see a deer.\u00a0 I saw a very big blue jay and I saw a flock of robins eating on the ground.\u00a0 But no deer.\u00a0 It got dark and I went back to where he had dropped me off.\u00a0 Very soon he was back and I reported: no deer.<\/p>\n
The neighbor was disappointed that I hadn’t got a deer to shoot, so we went out again this afternoon.\u00a0 This time we went to another deer blind box which was big enough for two people.\u00a0 We had a nice afternoon watching and waiting.\u00a0 He told me interesting stories about hunting and such. I added a few.\u00a0 We did see one deer (he saw it first).\u00a0 We did not shoot because it was a young male with less than the required antler size to qualify.<\/p>\n
A storm came through and the wind blew a bit.\u00a0 That was exciting.\u00a0 Eventually it got dark and we tramped back to the truck.<\/p>\n
He says we can go again some time.<\/p>\n
