{"id":3830,"date":"2013-08-31T18:49:35","date_gmt":"2013-08-31T23:49:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=3830"},"modified":"2013-08-31T18:49:59","modified_gmt":"2013-08-31T23:49:59","slug":"scaf-audio-amp-circuit-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=3830","title":{"rendered":"SCAF audio amp circuit board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Thursday: 5 miles.\u00a0 Today: 18 miles]<\/p>\n<p>I got my SCAF audio amp circuit laid out with Eagle CAD, created the circuit board, etched and drilled.\u00a0 Most of the parts are installed.<\/p>\n<p>The default trace size in Eagle CAD is itty-bitty, way too small.\u00a0 I doubled the size.\u00a0 But my drill bit still obliterates too much of the component mounting holes.\u00a0 Drill too big, pads too small.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no reason to use small traces in this circuit.\u00a0 I should have gone with something much bigger.<\/p>\n<p>But, that board is nearly done.\u00a0 I still have a power supply board and the actual SCAF board.\u00a0 The board I made was just for post-filter audio amplification!<\/p>\n<p>Ok.\u00a0 So maybe I&#8217;ll get the next one right.\u00a0 Last time I used Eagle CAD and made circuit boards was on my GPSDO, about what, two years ago?\u00a0 And I ended up doing a couple of those over, <strong><em>with bigger traces<\/em><\/strong>!\u00a0 Duh.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?attachment_id=3831\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3831\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3831\" alt=\"traces too small\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/GEDC0201-700x467.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/GEDC0201-700x467.jpg 700w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/GEDC0201-1024x684.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Thursday: 5 miles.\u00a0 Today: 18 miles] I got my SCAF audio amp circuit laid out with Eagle CAD, created the circuit board, etched and drilled.\u00a0 Most of the parts are installed.
