I was just reading today a bit about the “Fort Hood Shooter” military trial.<\/p>\n
This guy, an army medical officer, shot a bunch of people at the Ft Hood military base a few years ago.\u00a0 He is now on trial and acting as his own defender.<\/p>\n
The news is reporting that he stated he “was on the wrong side” and “changed sides”.\u00a0 It is reported that he wanted to put on a defense using the proposition that he was protecting Taliban by shooting US soldiers who were destined to go to Afghanistan.\u00a0 The judge would not let him use that argument.<\/p>\n
The news also says that it will take months for the trial to be completed.\u00a0 While this is going on he continues to be paid as an army officer .<\/p>\n
During WW2 141 members of the armed forces were court martialed and executed.\u00a0 They didn’t mess around.<\/p>\n
We call that the “greatest generation”.<\/p>\n
I’m not sure what we call this current generation.<\/p>\n
