Evans Rd and Limerock Rd was not there this morning.\u00a0 No dead body, no vultures circling.\u00a0 I wonder if someone took him home?<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I thought I would make a list of my current projects.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been kind of stuck for awhile and working on my surplusing project.\u00a0 But I have some other stuff cooking in the background:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>columbus automated weather station &#8211; I have it running but do not have the wifi or the solar power worked out.\u00a0 I need to buy a charge controller for the solar and maybe a different wifi dongle for the wifi.<\/li>\n<li>SCAF filter: I bought parts to build this and they are sitting in a pile.\u00a0 I need to do a layout and build a cirucit board.<\/li>\n<li>HW-8 internal audio filter:\u00a0 I bought a different audio filter to put inside the HW-8 transceiver.\u00a0 The HW-8\u00a0 has a &#8216;wide\/narrow&#8217; switch but the stock narrow setting has always been poor.\u00a0 I need to finish the plan for putting this new thing in place and then get it done.<\/li>\n<li>HBR receiver:\u00a0 I have a good supply of parts to start this, just haven&#8217;t done it.\u00a0 It may be more of a winter project.<\/li>\n<li>Freescale 2 meter VHF amp:\u00a0 I think I may have a line on a large heatsink.\u00a0 I have the freescale chip.\u00a0 Lots more stuff needed to get this off the ground.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Others:\u00a0 My scrapping project has turned up an X-Y vector display which could be made into a slick looking clock via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sparkfun.com\/products\/9306\">sparkfun kit ($30)<\/a>.\u00a0 I think I am in good shape with the time\/frequency stuff.\u00a0 Adding NTP to the GPSDO would be cool but I haven&#8217;t decided to do it, don&#8217;t really need it.\u00a0 I have some parts toward a nixie clock (driver chips and nixie tubes).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Picture:\u00a0 This thing is an &#8220;ionization gauge&#8221;.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t really know what that means.\u00a0 But this one has a broken filament so my tech-porn ebay pictures were for naught..<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?attachment_id=3753\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3753\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3753\" alt=\"Varian ion gauge - broken\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/GEDC0129-700x467.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/GEDC0129-700x467.jpg 700w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/GEDC0129-1024x684.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[today&#8217;s run: 5+ miles] First of all, the little dog at S.
