Yesterday evening and this morning I was able to get the vacuum chamber detached from the vacuum pumps and all disassembled.\u00a0 I filled a bin with the parts, almost everything appeared to be stainless steel.<\/p>\n
This afternoon we took a break from the office and went in to the scrap yard;\u00a0 they gave me $22 for the 55 lbs of stainless.<\/p>\n
No bites yet on the vacuum pump on ebay.\u00a0 I have another one, slightly larger, which I need to photograph and get going.<\/p>\n
Next I need to tackle the large rack of electronics, get some of that removed from the rack, get the rack down out of the truck.\u00a0 I’ll have to look through it to see if there is anything I want to save in my own junkbox.\u00a0 Stuff like transformers can either wait for a hamfest or go to the scrap yard.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, I don’t have the means to do gold-recovery from circuit boards.\u00a0 I don’t know any place around here that does it.\u00a0\u00a0 I haven’t actually looked at the boards in this thing enough to know if that is an issue anyway.\u00a0 But, no matter because I can’t do it.<\/p>\n
