[Today’s run: rest day]<\/p>\n
I worked a bit today on disassembling the mass spectrometer.<\/p>\n
It is basically two racks.\u00a0 The shortest rack has a lot of vacuum lines and the like.\u00a0 The largest rack is mostly electronics.<\/p>\n
I was able to disassemble most of the shortest rack.\u00a0 After getting power supplies and control units out, we were able to get it down off of the pickup truck.\u00a0 In the garage I started taking off parts from the vacuum chamber.\u00a0 The smaller vacuum pump is now off and I have some pictures up on ebay<\/a>.<\/p>\n Next up is the larger vacuum pump and the vacuum chamber itself.\u00a0 I think the chamber parts are stainless steel and I’m hoping to get about 50 cents a pound at the local scrap yard.\u00a0 We’ll see.<\/p>\n I have a couple of vacuum actuators and some small electronic vacuum valves to try on ebay also.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" [Today’s run: rest day] I worked a bit today on disassembling the mass spectrometer.
