[Today’s run: 12 miles]<\/p>\n
My wife is telling me that I just need to ignore politics for awhile.<\/p>\n
We were listening to This American Life today while driving to have an ice cream.\u00a0 And the story was about a guy who works for an organization that tried to get pro-USA Iraqi citizens out of Iraq after the general end of american military involvement.<\/p>\n
Anyway, the guy talks about how he was beating his head against a wall trying to get the Obama administration to do like other nations did:\u00a0 fly out the most threatened former employees and friends in Iraq and sort them out, give them asylum or relocation to some other country.<\/p>\n
And he goes through a case where someone who worked for an American company is eventually killed for his cooperation with the US, all while trying to get asylum.<\/p>\n
The Obama administration stonewalls the whole thing, eventually shutting down communication with this guy and his group and other groups.\u00a0\u00a0 That happened in the fall\/winter of 2011.<\/p>\n
But of course we didn’t hear anything about this during the election last year, that the Obama administration was hanging our friends out to dry.<\/p>\n
