{"id":3653,"date":"2013-06-26T08:26:29","date_gmt":"2013-06-26T13:26:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=3653"},"modified":"2013-06-26T08:45:52","modified_gmt":"2013-06-26T13:45:52","slug":"second-weather-station-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=3653","title":{"rendered":"Second weather station (update)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: 5 miles]<\/p>\n<p>When we last touched on the weather station project(s), I had just put the third and unused weather unit up on ebay.<\/p>\n<p>That worked out pretty well.\u00a0 I sold the unit and it is on it&#8217;s way to the buyer.\u00a0 And we made enough on the deal to cover the expenses for everything, more or less.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m working on the second weather station now.\u00a0 I mounted the unit on a post outside and had it talking to my computer via the serial port.\u00a0 I ordered and received shipment of a new Beaglebone Black single-board computer (adafruit.com)\u00a0 and the little rs-232 level shifter (sparkfun.com)\u00a0 and other assorted pieces.<\/p>\n<p>I wrestled with getting wifi to work on the BBB,\u00a0 still no success there.\u00a0 But I do have the BBB talking to the weather station via serial port.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to go ahead and get wview installed.\u00a0\u00a0 I should be able to do that.
