[Today’s run: 3 miles]<\/p>\n
Today did not turn out the way I was expecting it to.<\/p>\n
Last week I set up some work that needed to be done while the “users” had the day off.\u00a0 I was going to get a bit of a start on it over the weekend but that didn’t happen.<\/p>\n
And, frankly I had forgotten about it until this morning.\u00a0 We were trying to get ready, my wife wanted to go for a morning run, and I remembered that I was already late getting this stuff done.<\/p>\n
The process drug on and on, I thought it might take two hours, four if it went really bad.\u00a0 But it took a full four even with no big error.\u00a0 So, I blew the day from 8:00 to nearly noon getting that stuff done.\u00a0 But it’s done.<\/p>\n
We went on our run and put in about 3 miles.\u00a0 Then my wife wanted to go to the grocery store.<\/p>\n
But the neighbor was out working on his fence and I had told him I would help with that if I could.\u00a0 So I went and worked on the fence.\u00a0 While I was doing that she went to the store.<\/p>\n
I have to admit that I don’t like going to the grocery store.\u00a0 First of all I don’t like the crowd, particularly the crowded parking lot.\u00a0 Second, I really don’t like the cost.<\/p>\n
About a year ago we decided to try to eat better and my wife got some cookbooks and stuff.\u00a0 She has been cooking diabetic food even though we aren’t diabetic.\u00a0 The original idea was to be an encouragement to another family member who has been on the edge of diabetic for awhile.\u00a0 Anyway, it’s good for us and the food is tasty and all.\u00a0 The problem is that it costs more.\u00a0 It is not unusual to pay $250 for\u00a0 groceries that will last us a bit over a week.\u00a0 I don’t know why food should cost that much.<\/p>\n
So I put off going to the grocery store.\u00a0 But then we eat fast food and that definitely is more expensive and less nutritious. And the cupboard gets more bare and when we finally do go to the store the list is longer and the cost is higher.<\/p>\n
She decided not to wait for me and went by herself.\u00a0\u00a0 I’m glad she went, and I like the cooking.\u00a0 I just don’t understand why food has to cost this much. I think there’s not much I can do about it.<\/p>\n
Sorry Sweetie, I should have gone with you.\u00a0 We did get the fence done and the neighbor was happy.<\/p>\n
