{"id":2898,"date":"2012-09-03T17:39:57","date_gmt":"2012-09-03T22:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=2898"},"modified":"2012-09-03T17:45:13","modified_gmt":"2012-09-03T22:45:13","slug":"tired-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=2898","title":{"rendered":"Tired today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: rest day]<\/p>\n<p>I was up late last night.\u00a0 I started on some database maintenance work and things went badly.\u00a0 So then I had to patch it all together.\u00a0 I finally got it done about 4 this morning\u00a0 (with some nap breaks).<\/p>\n<p>So I did not run today and have mostly goofed around.\u00a0 I did put some new brake shoes on the back of the old pickup truck.\u00a0 That was about my only accomplishment.<\/p>\n<p>Here is another picture from the Iowa State Fair.\u00a0 This is a steer in the Four H Parade of Champions.\u00a0 That means it had won 1st or 2nd place in it&#8217;s breed and was now being shown for &#8220;Best of Show&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 The best-of-the-best becomes Grand Champion and is auctioned off later.\u00a0 The price is usually somewhere in the\u00a0 $30-$40k range.\u00a0 (this particular one did not win the top prize)<\/p>\n<p>Looks impressive to me!\u00a0 They were reading off info about these critters as they walked into the arena.\u00a0 Many of them had weight gain in the 3 Lb\/day range.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?attachment_id=2899\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2899\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2899\" title=\"prize steer\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/GEDC0374-700x467.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/GEDC0374-700x467.jpg 700w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/GEDC0374-1024x684.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: rest day] I was up late last night.\u00a0 I started on some database maintenance work and things went badly.\u00a0 So then I had to patch it all together.\u00a0 I finally got it done about 4 this morning\u00a0 (with some nap breaks).
