{"id":2315,"date":"2012-03-13T21:46:40","date_gmt":"2012-03-14T02:46:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=2315"},"modified":"2012-03-13T21:52:58","modified_gmt":"2012-03-14T02:52:58","slug":"mississippi-primaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=2315","title":{"rendered":"Mississippi primaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: Watson Road 3.5 miles]<\/p>\n<p>Today was the Mississippi primary and we toddled over to West Lowndes High School and did our thing.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure if I have ever voted in a primary before, maybe in Illinois.\u00a0 Iowa has a caucus and Colorado has a caucus.\u00a0\u00a0 Caucuses are kind of interesting because you get to talk to other people and make a case for a candidate, if you so desire.\u00a0 Primaries are just another\u00a0 vote.\u00a0\u00a0 (I think, in the misty past, I once voted in a Democratic Primary in Chicago.\u00a0 Then I had to dodge party solicitations until the next round when I changed back to Independent.)<\/p>\n<p>I voted in the Republican primary.\u00a0 The ballot had\u00a0 US Rep, US Senator and President on it. The President position was interesting because there were a lot of names on there that are no longer active in the election.\u00a0\u00a0 I wonder if any of those folks actually will get many votes?<\/p>\n<p>And they had &#8220;write in&#8221;.\u00a0 But I already have a job and I don&#8217;t want to move to D.C. anyway.\u00a0\u00a0 And which of my friends or acquaintances would I like to send into such a position?<\/p>\n<p>The polling place was not overly busy, but there were people in the booths when we arrived, around 10 am, and people coming in when we left.\u00a0 So I guess that means a steady stream.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: Watson Road 3.5 miles] Today was the Mississippi primary and we toddled over to West Lowndes High School and did our thing.
