[Today’s run: maybe this afternoon]<\/p>\n

My usual schedule is to work away from home for a couple of hours three days a week while my wife is at the gym.<\/p>\n

My recent favorite place has been Beans & Cream in the Brickertown shopping plaza.\u00a0 But this week they have been all dark and a sign in the window says they are closed and looking to sell out.\u00a0 Bummer.\u00a0 So the last two occasions I have gone to Dunkin’ Donuts on Hwy 45.\u00a0 But, their wifi has been down for two times now.<\/p>\n

This morning I went in, bought my two donuts and milk, tried to get on the wifi and failed.\u00a0 I went back up to the counter and told the woman that their Internet was down.\u00a0 She said, “It work when it wanna work.\u00a0 We’ve restarted it.”\u00a0 And that was the end of that.\u00a0 So I have fired off a comment on the DD website contact form.\u00a0 Maybe they will get someone to fix it.\u00a0 Or maybe I’ll have to find a different place.\u00a0 (The donuts at DD are not very good anyway, and too expensive.)<\/p>\n

I do sympathize with fast-food help when it comes to wifi.\u00a0 There is really not much they can do.\u00a0 In the DD case, I was getting connected to the local wifi box but did not get an IP address assignment.\u00a0 That may be the local box, or it could be a problem upstream somewhere, wherever the DHCP server is.\u00a0 So it could be a local ISP or it could be some kind of corporate IT problem.\u00a0 Who knows?\u00a0 What I do know is that the failure looks bad for the store and it disrupts what I want to do.\u00a0 And a shrug-off response is not quite enough.<\/p>\n
