{"id":1874,"date":"2011-12-09T09:10:11","date_gmt":"2011-12-09T15:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=1874"},"modified":"2011-12-09T09:10:11","modified_gmt":"2011-12-09T15:10:11","slug":"oracle-offshore-sales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=1874","title":{"rendered":"Oracle offshore sales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: nothing yet]<\/p>\n<p>I received two phone calls this week from people claiming to work for Oracle.\u00a0 Both just wanted to know about how I am using Oracle products.\u00a0 Both went through a script of various areas of concern, security, upgrades, etc.\u00a0 Professional sounding stuff.<\/p>\n<p>I have received these calls before from both males and females, with India accents.\u00a0 They want to know if I am interested in Grid Control, or Management Packs.<\/p>\n<p>The frustrating thing is that I go through what I&#8217;m doing and what my plans are, and they pay zero attention.\u00a0 I may get another call next week or six months from now and they don&#8217;t know who I am or what I&#8217;m doing&#8230; and I am kind of tired of going through it all over and over.<\/p>\n<p>They tell me they work for Oracle.\u00a0 They may even drop some names of Oracle reps.\u00a0 Not that I would know much about that area since I seldom talk to real Oracle sales reps.\u00a0 Have nothing against them, just have little reason to call them.\u00a0 So these guys pretend to be calling from Oracle but I don&#8217;t think they really work for Oracle.\u00a0 Would Oracle be that disorganized?<\/p>\n<p>Today I opened a trouble ticket on Oracle&#8217;s technical support website about these calls.\u00a0 I realize that is not really the appropriate venue but it is the one I have.\u00a0 I want to know:\u00a0 A)\u00a0 if these people really work for Oracle and B) if so, how come they don&#8217;t know anything about me when they call and C) if they are just cold calling, how to get me off of their list.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: nothing yet] I received two phone calls this week from people claiming to work for Oracle.\u00a0 Both just wanted to know about how I am using Oracle products.\u00a0 Both went through a script of various areas of concern, security, upgrades, etc.\u00a0 Professional sounding stuff.
