{"id":1474,"date":"2011-09-26T18:22:04","date_gmt":"2011-09-26T23:22:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=1474"},"modified":"2011-09-26T18:22:04","modified_gmt":"2011-09-26T23:22:04","slug":"hallicrafters-sx-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=1474","title":{"rendered":"Hallicrafters SX-11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: 2.5 miles with the dog]<\/p>\n<p>An old friend gave me this radio quite some time ago.\u00a0 He thought it looked cool.\u00a0 But it doesn&#8217;t work.<\/p>\n<p>So I&#8217;m finally ready to dive in and see what we can do.\u00a0 First I found the schematic diagram and manual online.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know if it is exactly like this radio, but it is close.<\/p>\n<p>I have cleaned it up in a general way.\u00a0 I am ordering new capacitors to replace all electrolytics and paper\/wax caps.\u00a0 I also have installed a modern electrical cord which will give some safety grounding.\u00a0 I installed a fuse holder too.\u00a0\u00a0 We tested the tubes awhile ago and they seemed to be ok.<\/p>\n<p>When the capacitors come we will go through and replace all of those.\u00a0 Then I can power it up without the tubes in it and do some checking of voltages in the tube sockets, just to see if things are generally in range.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1476\" href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?attachment_id=1476\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1476\" title=\"SX-11\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/GEDC0090-700x467.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"467\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/GEDC0090-700x467.jpg 700w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/GEDC0090-1024x684.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: 2.5 miles with the dog] An old friend gave me this radio quite some time ago.\u00a0 He thought it looked cool.\u00a0 But it doesn&#8217;t work.
