{"id":1109,"date":"2011-08-05T18:57:50","date_gmt":"2011-08-05T23:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=1109"},"modified":"2011-08-05T19:08:46","modified_gmt":"2011-08-06T00:08:46","slug":"typing-in-the-dark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=1109","title":{"rendered":"Typing in the dark"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run:\u00a0 1 mile with the dog]<\/p>\n<p>We had another thunderstorm come through this afternoon and it had a lot of lightning.\u00a0 The power went out and is still out.\u00a0 No lights and no air conditioning.\u00a0 Fortunately the laptop still works and the temperature has gone down after the rain went through.\u00a0 I have my wireless access point on a UPS, so my internet still works.\u00a0 I also have an old-fashioned telephone without all of the fancy features that require house power.\u00a0 And I have my blackberry.<\/p>\n<p>My power company is\u00a0 <a title=\"4 County Electric Power Association\" href=\"http:\/\/www.4county.org\">4 County Electric Power Association<\/a> and they have an online outage system.\u00a0 So I could see that they got my outage phone call and that I was one of 87\u00a0 customers in a small area that were out.<\/p>\n<p>Now the power has come back on.\u00a0 Oh sweet, air conditioning! And the lights are back, so I can read if I want to.<\/p>\n<p>We have more outages here than what we had in Ft.
