{"id":1107,"date":"2011-08-04T20:38:51","date_gmt":"2011-08-05T01:38:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=1107"},"modified":"2011-08-04T20:38:51","modified_gmt":"2011-08-05T01:38:51","slug":"a-bit-of-rain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/OM\/?p=1107","title":{"rendered":"A bit of rain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: rest day]<\/p>\n<p>We had a bit of rain come through this evening.\u00a0 I was wanting to go to the ham radio club meeting so I packed up and went (got there a bit late).\u00a0 While driving to town I went through a pretty stiff but short downpour.<\/p>\n<p>Then after the meeting, coming home, the road was very wet all the way to my house.<\/p>\n<p>So\u00a0 maybe we are getting away from the hot and dry conditions we&#8217;ve seen for the last few weeks.\u00a0 The soil around here is a heavy clay.\u00a0 When we don&#8217;t get rain it develops cracks like a dry lake bed and we have been seeing those cracks for awhile already this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The ham club meeting was good.\u00a0 Lots of activity these days.\u00a0 They are planning to start a licensing class in October and then do a CW class.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Today&#8217;s run: rest day] We had a bit of rain come through this evening.\u00a0 I was wanting to go to the ham radio club meeting so I packed up and went (got there a bit late).\u00a0 While driving to town I went through a pretty stiff but short downpour.
